Description

This course introduces solenoid valves, one of the most widely used electrically actuated valves in industrial and commercial applications. You'll learn the basic principles of electromagnetism, how a solenoid generates a magnetic field, and how this magnetic force is used to actuate a valve.

Through detailed animations and clear explanations, the course explores the construction of a typical solenoid valve, including the solenoid coil, armature, plunger, spring, valve body, valve seat, and closure element. You'll also learn the operating principles of normally closed and normally open solenoid valves, along with their common applications in pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, HVAC, and domestic systems.

By the end of this course, you'll understand how solenoid valves convert electrical energy into mechanical movement to provide fast, reliable, and automatic flow control across a wide range of engineering systems.
